Oliver Bashford, MBChB (MD), BSc (hons), DGM, MRCPsych

Psychiatrist, Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists | Medical Education Trainer and Supervisor
Dr. Bashford completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Edinburgh in 2008. He undertook medical foundation training in West London before moving into psychiatry, where he completed core and higher training in psychiatry with the prestigious South London and Maudsley training programme. In 2012 he became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
In 2015, Dr. Bashford held a position as an honorary research associate at Imperial College London where he assisted in a clinical trial looking at the use of psilocybin for treatment resistant depression. In the same year co-founded a psychedelic interest group, The Maudsley Psychedelic Society, to host educational events for doctors, academics and other healthcare staff interested in the therapeutic use of psychedelic medicines. Outside of the healthcare setting, Dr. Bashford has volunteered in psychedelic welfare and harm reduction at music events, providing assistance to individuals undergoing challenging experiences.
Dr. Bashford has an interest in the overlap between physical and mental health and in the mental disorders associated with aging. He currently works in a crisis service in Surrey, UK.
